Mobble Support for Farmers Impacted by the Victorian Bushfires

It’s been a busy, heavy time for a lot of our Mobblers in the wake of the Victorian bushfires last week. Firstly, we want to say how sorry we are to all farmers, friends and communities impacted. My family were very fortunate to escape any damage, but many close friends nearby weren’t so lucky. It’s been devastating to see the amount of destruction and pain that happens post a fire disaster, especially so close to home and to our loved ones and fellow Mobblers.

As farmers are coming up for air after unimaginable stress and loss - somehow focus has to turn to clean-up, rebuilding and dealing with insurance. We’ve put our heads together here at Mobble to think about how we can practically help:

1. Mapping fenceline totals for insurance. Friends reached out recently asking for their property total fenceline distances to report to insurance companies. Send us an email or give us a call directly if this is something that could help you out.

2. Agistment support. Obviously a lot of stock moving around at the moment. We’ve got a handy how-to doc here all about recording livestock agisted either on your property or elsewhere.

3. Measuring distances for pipeline or fenceline to replace. Here’s a how-to below:

  • Go to Map page
  • Select the Ruler button.
  • Use the blue button to toggle between measuring a line (distance) or a polygon (area).
  • Select the start and end points on the map.
  • Use the back button (orange) to remove the last point you added, or the delete button (red) to clear the measurement.

4. Adding contractors into Mobble. A lot of people jumping in to help where they can. If you’d like to give helpers access to your Mobble map, tasks and Mobble chat - you can add them to Mobble as a contractor via Mobble Connect. Here’s how. *If you need extra users, we can up your contractor limit - let us know.

5. Free Mobble subscription. We’d like to offer free Mobble subscriptions to non-Mobblers who have been heavily impacted by the fires. For existing Mobblers whose properties have been sadly burnt out - we’re offering a free year of Mobble. If that’s you or someone you know, please reach out.

6. Give us a call or shoot through an email if there’s anything else you can think of that might be helpful.

To those going through it right now - we hope you’ve got freezers bursting with meals, and helping hands from neighbours coming from every direction. It really has been amazing to see community rallying around each other to help in whatever way they can - from people donating their time for the clean up, dropping off donated hay and grain to keep livestock going, vets coming out free of charge, people doing food drops, lending machinery and helping in any way they can. It’s phenomenal.

We know it’s a long road to recovery - and we’re thinking of all our Mobblers and farmers impacted.

Take care,
Jock
