Mobble Map

The Mobble Map is a handy way to navigate your ranch in Mobble. Read on to find out where to start mapping your field boundaries and all the things you can do with Mobble Maps. But first, two things to note:

• Adding and editing field boundaries is best done via the Mobble web app, but can also be done on the mobile app if you prefer this option.
• Mobble's mobile app can access and use these maps on and offline.

If you've got an existing map file (KML, Shapefile, Geojson), send it through to us at hello@mobble.io and we can upload it for you.

If you'd rather skip maps for now, you can add your fields in from the fields page using the plus button in the bottom right.

Web and Mobile App

• Select the Map Options button in the top right to change what you can see on the map. There are options here to choose from a range of satellite imagery providers.
• Click and drag herd pins to move herds.
• Fields under withdrawal periods will appear with a red outline, herds under withdrawal periods will have a red dot on the herd pin.
• Select a field to view the field card, then select the card to view field options.
• Select a herd pin to view a herd card, then select the card for herd options.
• Fields with a white dotted line surrounding them have open gates between the fields.

Create a new field via maps:  

1. Select Map from the main menu.
2. Select the green plus button.
3. Select Add Field.
4. Select each corner of the field sequentially to draw the field.
5. Select Add Field.
6. Enter the field Name and Type.
7. Select Add Field.

*Note: "Snap to Boundary" is turned on by default when adding fields, so points placed near an existing field boundary will align with that boundary automatically. To turn this off, select the magnet button after step 3.

Edit a field boundary: 

1. Select the field.
2. Select the field card.
3. Select Field info.
4. Select Edit (top right corner).
5. Click and drag the points around to edit the field boundary.
6. Select Select.
7. Select Update field.

Map an existing field:

1. From the fields page, select the field.
2. Select Field Info.
3. Select Edit (top right corner).
4. Select on Map.‍
5. Select each corner of the field sequentially to draw the field.
6. Select Update.
7. Select Update Field.

To measure a distance: ‍

1. Select the Ruler button.
2. Use the blue button to toggle between measuring a line (distance) or a polygon (area).
3. Select the start and end points on the map.
4. Use the back button (orange) to remove the last point you added, or the delete button (red) to clear the measurement.
