How to Split a Herd

Splitting a herd is similar to moving a single herd, except you change the number to split. The remainder stays in the field.

1. Select a single herd to split (either from the map or herds page).
2. Select Move Herd to move or split a herd.
3. Select the Green Split icon.
4. Enter number of head to split.
5. Select Move Herd.

Quite often when splitting a herd, it is for reasons like categorizing, weaning and splitting age groups. In the Advanced Splitting Options you can change the ages, categories and gender of the moving and remaining herd.
