Celebrating Mobble's Women (on #IWD2024 and everyday)

Mobble is a 100% remote business, with our team spread across four Australian states, as well as New Zealand.

We're a flexible work-place first, hoping that without (much) structure around set hours, locations, or days, our amazing team has the autonomy and the authority to get their job done from wherever, whenever.

Our experience is that this belief in staff makes the Mobble workplace an inclusive and supportive space.

We're proud of having a 50:50 gender split in what is traditionally a male-dominated industry.

To recognise International Women’s Day #IWD2024, we wanted to introduce you to three of our amazing Mobblers: Amie Lange, Melanie Brown and Carly Fabris.

Mobble is proud of a 50/50 gender split

Melanie Brown

Where are you based? Creswick, Victoria

Mobbler since when? I've been proudly Mobbling since 2020

What does having an inclusive workplace mean to you? I have an 18-month-old daughter, and  the flexibility at Mobble has made my transition to being a working Mum as easy as it could be. Mobble is supportive of my role as a parent, which motivates me to bring my best self to work- sometimes at unconventional hours!

Fave part of working at Mobble? Definitely my amazing co-workers. Everyone here is exceptional at what they do, and driven by the shared goal of making farmer's lives easier.

In your experience, what strengths and skills do women bring to farming? In my experience working on farms, hard work and commitment to the land is the glue that keeps them running. Women are excellent at both these things and are often highly skilled at listening to people, livestock and the landscape

Amie Lange

Where are you based? Thallon QLD

Mobbler since when? December, 2022

What does having an inclusive workplace mean to you? A supportive team environment where people from all different walks of life are respected and given the opportunity to flourish.

Fave part of working at Mobble? My favourite part of working at Mobble would have to be the team culture. The support, understanding and respect for one another is second to none.

In your experience, what strengths and skills do women bring to farming? An alternative perspective to problem solving, often with an empathetic approach, attention to detail, and a focus on the well-being of livestock and the land, and also the care of machinery.

Carly Fabris

Where are you based? I predominately work from the farm in Mangoplah NSW but you will often catch me working out of my home town in Southend SA while visiting family!

Mobbler since when? June 2022

What does having an inclusive workplace mean to you? Being able to be yourself, feeling valued and accepted within the team and celebrating people's differences, backgrounds and ways of thinking!

Fave part of working at Mobble? My favourite part of working for Mobble is the team and the culture. Working for a company that values you and understands the season of raising small children has been so amazing and a game changer for our family. Jock has created such an excellent work place supporting young mums and flexible work arrangements. Everyone in the team is friendly and great to work with- working remotely can feel lonely at times when you're not face-to-face with colleagues but with Mobble and the excellent communication we have in the team it's as close as sitting next to someone as you can get!

In your experience, what strengths and skills do women bring to farming? Women in farming are highly motivated and hard working with excellent communication skills. They tend to be great at building relationships and have a keen interest in business diversity and sustainability. Women bring a different skill set and way of thinking to the table (great problem solving)!
